Getting started
What can OurPack Health actually do for me?
Four things that interlock. It keeps ONE health record for your pet's whole life, so nothing starts from memory. It gets that record to your vet in a form they can use in seconds. It tracks the day to day — weight, food, water, medication, the things you notice — from you simply saying them, rather than filling in forms. And it turns your vet's instructions into a care plan you can actually follow. The point is continuity: a pattern across eight weeks is the kind of thing no single appointment can see.
Can I try it without paying?
Yes, and it is not a trial — there is no clock on it. A care plan for every animal in your pack is free, always. That is the whole specification of what a healthy life for your animal needs, the education behind every recommendation, and your own choices about what goes in the plan and how often. Invite your family, your sitter and your dog walker to see it; there is no cap on people either. Triage is free too, and you do not even need an account for it — describe what you are seeing and you get an urgency and a route to a vet. What a membership adds is the recording. Ticking things off, weights, meals, medications, the record that holds all of it and the reasoning over it. You can build the plan for free; a membership is what lets you record that you did it.
Which animals does it cover?
Dogs, cats, rabbits, parrots, horses, bearded dragons, goats, ferrets and a good deal more — the registry spans the animals people actually keep. Coverage is stated honestly per species rather than implied: many animals get full triage and standing guidance, and for some the right answer is to send you to a vet who treats that species, which the app says plainly instead of going blank.
Does my vet have to be involved for this to be useful?
No. It works entirely on your side — the record, the tracking and the summaries are yours whether or not your vet ever signs in. It gets better when they do, and it costs them nothing.
How do I get my pet's existing history in?
Upload what you have — invoices, lab results, discharge notes, photographs of paper records — and it is read and filed onto the timeline. You can also just talk: say what you remember and it is captured as part of the record.
Your vet
Does my vet have to pay to see my pet's record?
No. OurPack Health is completely free for veterinarians. There is no vet subscription, no per-visit fee and no charge of any kind on their side. Our only revenue is the membership you pay for. Your vet is never billed for reading your animal's record, and we never take a share of what they charge you.
How does my vet get access?
Every summary carries a QR code. Your vet scans it, verifies their veterinary licence once, and then — when you grant access — they can see your pet's record. YOU control that grant: you are told who is asking, you decide, and you can withdraw it later. Verifying the licence is a one-time step for the vet, not something repeated at every visit.
What does my vet actually get out of it?
The whole picture, instead of the two minutes you can recall under pressure — history, trends, medications, what changed and when. For a verified veterinary account the reasoning layer also works as clinical decision support on their side: ranked differential diagnoses with the reasoning shown, and suggested workups. That is for them, as licensed professionals. It is never what you are shown.
What if my vet does not want to use it?
Then nothing breaks. Print or forward the summary and it reads as an ordinary clinical handover — it is written to be handed straight to a vet on paper. We never pressure your vet to sign up, never rate them, and never offer you an alternative to them.
Pricing and billing
Is there a money-back guarantee?
No, and you do not need one — which is the better version of the same promise. A care plan for every animal in your pack is free, always, and it does not end. You can build the plan, choose what goes in it, set how often, invite your family, name your vet and use the triage line without paying anything. So you are never asked to buy something you have not already seen. That is the opposite way round from a refund. A guarantee says pay first and take your money back if it was wrong; the free plan means you do not pay until you already know. A membership adds recording what you actually did, the record that holds it, the reasoning over it and the line to your vet — and you can decide about that with the free plan already in front of you. Cancel any time and your plan stays free with every record intact.
Can I change membership later?
Any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and we credit whatever you have already paid toward the new one. Downgrades take effect at the end of the period you have paid for, so you keep everything you bought.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your account whenever you like — there is no contract and no cancellation fee — and you keep access to the end of the period you have already paid for. After that your account drops to the free care plan rather than closing. Every record, every message and every measurement stays, and it stays exportable. Nothing is deleted unless you ask us to delete it.
How much does it cost?
Three plans, and every one is a flat price for the whole household — nothing is priced per animal. Companion is $10 a month or $99 a year, for one pet and 2 Managed Vet Cases open at once. Family Member is $25 a month or $249 a year, for up to 3 pets and 5 Managed Vet Cases shared across all of them. Pack Leader is $40 a month or $380 a year, for unlimited pets and unlimited cases. And a care plan for every animal in your pack costs nothing at all. You can build it, choose what goes in it and set how often — free, always. A membership is what lets you record that you did it, so you can see the whole thing before you pay for any of it.
What is a health Managed Vet Case?
One thing you are dealing with — an ear infection, a limp, a new diabetes diagnosis. You open a Managed Vet Case, the reasoning layer reads your pet's whole record and builds a vet-ready case, and it stays open for as long as the care lasts. Your membership sets how many can be open at the same time.
Does a long-running condition cost more?
No. We do not charge for time, and a Managed Vet Case is never billed on its own. A Managed Vet Case opened for a diabetic dog costs the same in year four as it did on day one — check-ins, updates and reminders run for as long as the care does. What a membership meters is how many Managed Vet Cases are open AT ONCE, never how long any one of them lasts.
What happens when all my Managed Vet Cases are in use?
You will see it coming before it becomes a problem. Close one that has resolved — which frees the space immediately and keeps the whole history — or move up a membership for more room. Nothing is ever deleted, and we never close a Managed Vet Case for you.
What if I have more than one pet?
They share one plan, and one price. Family Member covers up to 3 pets for $25 a month, and Pack Leader covers as many as you have for $40 a month — the price does not change when you add an animal. Managed Vet Cases are shared across the household too: Family Member gives you 4 open at once across all three pets, not 4 each. That is deliberate. A limit you can hold in your head is worth more than one that is technically more generous and impossible to predict. Care plans themselves are free for every animal, however many you have, on any plan or none.
Safety and clinical limits
Does the AI diagnose my pet or replace my vet?
No. It never diagnoses, never prescribes and never grades your vet's direction. It helps you understand, organise and track — and it points you to a veterinarian when a situation warrants professional care. Your vet is always the clinical decision-maker; we carry and surface their guidance, we do not originate it.
How does it decide how urgent something is?
A fixed, reviewed, versioned rule set decides it — ordinary code, not a conversational model. The same observations always produce the same answer, and no model is able to lower an urgency. Anything the rules cannot recognise fails UPWARD, toward being seen sooner rather than later.
Will it ever tell me I do not need to see a vet?
Never. There is no path through this product that ends in you probably do not need a vet. The question it answers is how fast, never whether — every outcome ends at a veterinarian.
What happens in an emergency?
This is not an emergency service. If your pet is struggling to breathe, collapsed, seizing, bleeding heavily, has a bloated hard belly, or you think they ate something toxic — stop and go to your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital now. Do not wait for an app.
Privacy and your data
Is my data private? Is this HIPAA-covered?
Your pet's record is yours — you own it, and you can export or delete it. HIPAA governs human health data and does not apply to pet records, but we hold your information to a high standard regardless: encrypted, access-controlled and never sold. The Privacy Policy carries the full detail.
Who can see my pet's record?
You, anyone you invite, and any veterinarian you have granted access to. Nobody else. A vet who scans your summary still has to be granted access by you, and you can withdraw it. We do not sell data, and we never hand your record to a clinic as a condition of anything.
Your account
Can more than one person manage the same pet?
Yes. Invite a co-owner, a sitter or a walker and give each the right level of access. Everyone sees the same up-to-date record, and the pet stays with its owners even if one person leaves.
What happens to my records if I stop paying?
They are not taken from you. Your record remains yours and remains exportable. What a membership buys is the ongoing reasoning, tracking and Managed Vet Case capacity — never custody of your animal's history.
How do I delete my account and data?
Account settings, then Delete Account. There is a 30-day grace period in which signing back in cancels it; after that your account and the pets only you own are permanently deleted. Pets you co-own stay with the other owners.
